Sam Chaplin, CFA

Portfolio Manager

Sam earned a Finance degree from the University of Maine in 2013 and has a background in banking and hedge fund administration. He joined PFA in 2018 and is now responsible for managing investment research, trading, and reporting. Sam completed his CFA in 2022.

Sam recently moved back to his old stomping grounds in Central Maine with his girlfriend Amy and their dog Dino. As first-time homeowners, they have been quickly turning into their parents, with new hobbies including lawn care, gardening, and house projects.

When outside the house Sam likes to spend time with family and friends enjoying Maine’s Great Outdoors. Some of his favorite places to visit include Sugarloaf Mountain, Moosehead Lake, and the North Maine Woods. Where he likes to snowboard, camp, hike, boat, and fish.
